Biography

Diana García-Snyder (she/her) MFA, AWC; International performer, director and mindful movement specialist of Mexican origin. Dance, Performance and Mindfulness faculty at UWBothell's School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and co-founder of DAIPANbutoh Collective. Diana has performed, taught and presented her work in the US, Mexico, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Chile and Ecuador. Her research focuses on dance as a healing practice and as social technology for holistic sustainability. She is a certified Pilates instructor, yoga teacher and Ayurveda wellness counselor.  She currently teaches DANCE 244, Butoh Practice at the Dance Program and this Early Fall she is co-directing a unique dance/biology UW study abroad  called “Dancing with Nature in the PNW; Embodied learning of Natural History, Conservation and Global Perspectives in collaboration with Peruvian ecologist and UWBothell professor Ursula Valdez.
