Activators Workshop: build collective memories through engagement with community
Become an Activator for the May 20th Processional, I Choose to Remember Us Whole, with Meany Center Guest Artist Alexander Jones. Activators will play a key role in guiding community members between five temporary altars constructed on the UW campus, ending at the Henry Art Gallery on May 20th, 2023 between 11am-3pm.
To become an Activator during the processional, please attend the Activators Workshop on Saturday May 13 (noon - 2pm) where you will learn the improvisational score that draws on several traditions including butoh. Led by Diana Garcia-Snyder and Juliet McMains in conjunction with students from Dance 490C. Bring clothes for movement in the studio and warm layers for our outdoor practice. Open/accessible to all movers, dancers, and community members of all ages. Free.
