Biography
Shannon Narasimhan (PT, DPT Physical Therapist) is an alumna of the UW Department of Dance and the 2006 recipient of the Evelyn H. Green Endowed Scholarship. She is the resident PT for Seattle based Chamber Dance Company and is an Affiliate Assistant Professor for the UW Dance Program. She holds a BA (Dance with Honors) and BS (Biology) from University of Washington, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Columbia University. Shannon is a WA State licensed physical therapist with extensive experience in treating orthopedic, sport, and performance art related injuries. As a former professional dancer, she has a unique approach to treating patients. Her specialties include orthopedics and sports with an emphasis in performing arts physical therapy—she actually entered the field of physical therapy to work with the performing arts community. Shannon provided on-site physical therapy services for Katy Perry’s Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show in 2015; was the full-time physical therapist for the first national tour of War Horse; and, was the resident full-time in-house physical therapist for the cast of Sleep No More. She was also a support covering therapist for The Elephant Man, The King and I, STOMP, We Will Rock You, And Away We Go, Evita, Soul Doctor, Lion King, and Nice Work If You Can Get It.
