Biography
Katie Daugherty is a Seattle-based artist and is passionate about performing, creating, educating, and supporting artists through their own creative processes. Katie holds a BA from the University of Washington (UW) with a major in dance. After graduating in 2020, she taught preschool, hand-forged jewelry, and dabbled in construction. Katie loves “tiny things” and when she is not dancing she is working on curating tiny objects and constructing or finding spaces for them to be displayed in. Katie has performed works by Brian Brooks, AVID - A Vehicle for Improvised Dance, Alexandra Bradshaw-Yerby, Rachael Lincoln, Alethea Alexander, and Jennifer Salk, among others. Katie is currently working alongside Megumi Hosaka on a new dance film and is in the process of creating a children’s theater piece titled, For Nigel.
