Congratulations to Rachael Lincoln who has been awarded a UW Royalty Research Fund (RRF) Award!

The RRF award will fund three newly commissioned duets co-created and performed by Associate Professor of Dance Rachael Lincoln and her longtime collaborator, Professor Leslie Seiters (San Diego State University). Drawing on literary, scientific, and philosophical sources, the work translates ideas of orbit, weight, momentum, and inevitability into movement using Fast Craft and Disorderly Techniques—an accelerated, instinct-driven choreographic process that privileges immediacy, embodied decision-making, and trust in the body’s intelligence over perfectionism and prolonged refinement. With guest direction by senior contemporary dance artists, the project serves as both a love letter to lifelong practitioners and a challenge to ageism, culminating in an essay that documents the process and honors artistic lineage across generations. Congratulations again to Professor Lincoln!
