Dance Costume Assistant 

Are you passionate about costumes and organizing? The Department of Dance is seeking two enthusiastic and detail-oriented students to join our team as Dance Costume Assistants. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the Department's Costumer and Chair to ensure our dance costumes are meticulously organized and maintained.

Position Details:

  • Hourly Wage: $20.50 per hour
  • Hours: Up to 40 hours each (20 hours in September and 20 additional hours as needed)
  • Anticipated Start Date: September 23, 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizing dance costumes from various locations, including Meany and Hutchinson
  • Labeling costumes and moving them to designated storage areas
  • Assessing costumes for wear and tear, coordinating with faculty and costumer for potential donations or discards
  • Packing costumes and materials for donation or disposal
  • Cleaning and tidying costume storage areas
  • Assisting with any additional organization tasks as directed by the lead costumer or Department Chair

Skills Needed:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to take direction and respond positively to feedback
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders as needed.
