EXPLORES CULTURE, COMMUNITY, AND SOCIO-POLITICAL VALUES AND MEANINGS AS EMBODIED THROUGH VARIOUS CONTEXTUALIZED DANCES OF THE MENA (MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA). COALESCING THEORY AND PRACTICE, THIS CLASS IS AN INTEGRATED STUDIO AND ACADEMIC STUDY. TUESDAYS WILL CONSIST OF CLOSE READINGS, DYNAMIC DISCUSSION, LECTURES, AND VIDEO ANALYSIS, WHILE THURSDAYS CLASSES WILL CONSIST OF STUDIO MOVEMENT PRACTICE.
