Biography

Doris is pleased to join the UW Department of Dance. She designs costumes for stage and screen with a special emphasis on dance. Her work includes designs for the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, the Olympic Ballet Theatre and twelve seasons at Spectrum Dance Theater with Donald Byrd. She designs for many theaters including Intiman Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Sound Theatre Company, Freehold, theater simple, the Seagull Project and Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society.  She is the resident costume designer for the Seattle Men’s Chorus/Seattle Women’s Chorus. Her film work includes “Changer: A Hand Telling”, “Police Beat”, “The Dark Horse” and “Cthulhu”. She teaches Costume Design at Inglemoor High School as part of their technical theater program. She also works for Period Corsets, which produces period understructures.  She received her MFA in Costume Design from the University of Washington.
