Biography

Agnessa transferred to the University of Washington in 2020. She is from Miami, Florida, and started dancing at the age of four. She has had the opportunity to perform across the country, including New York City, Amsterdam, and Israel, to train and learn from various dance summer programs. She loves learning about dance and athletics and is hoping to use her knowledge and experiences from dance and use them in the field of sports medicine.

What is one of your favorite moments from your time with the Department of Dance?

Meeting the people I had classes with online in person and finally being able to dance with them in person! Creating with other dancers in person and seeing how their movement and ideas from zoom were showcased in real life was also amazing! One of my favorite moments was having the opportunity to create a dance film during the COVID-19 pandemic with my dance peers.

What plans or goals do you have for post-graduation?

After graduation, I plan to continue to work for the University of Washington Athletics, working alongside the sport-dietitians for UW football and Olympic sports teams. I plan to also apply to a master's program to become a Sports Dietitian in the future.
