Reality. It took a Reality TV show to get Michelle Lesniak out of the wine industry and into the fashion and design industry. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest to a coven of award-winning quilt makers and style takers, Lesniak followed her family’s creativity to art school in Chicago. In 2014 Lesniak went head to head against other designers in a competitive fashion show called Project Runway. After winning the show she has shown her work around the world, dressed celebrities, costumed for dance and drama, as well as speaking out about the need for ‘slow fashion’: bringing back the tailored and saved garments that don’t end up in landfills. “Let’s make emotion. Let’s tell a story. Let’s stop trend-driven garbage that ends up being garbage.” Fashion with a purpose. Fun Facts: Favorite color, Dirty Chartruese; Chihuahua lover. Project Runway All-stars Alum.
