Since moving to New York City from her native Portland, OR, Adele Nickel has danced with choreographers Noemie LaFrance, Sarah Michelson, Karole Armitage, Patrick Corbin and Pat Catterson, among others. As a member of the Liz Gerring Dance Company (2007 2015) she was featured in several evening-length works, including the 2013 Bessie-nominated Glacier. Most recently, she collaborated with choreographer Annie-B Parson and Grammy Award-winning rock musician St. Vincent. Adele has taught dance throughout the U.S., Europe and East Asia. She is an AmSAT-certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and was on faculty at Movement Research, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique (RIAT) where she also taught embodied anatomy and developmental movement. She holds a B.A. with a major in Writing from the New School and has written about dance for The Village Voice.
